CHEF’S DELIGHT

This home is over 100 years old and has already gone through several renovations.  But the kitchen needed a whole new style upgrade, a modern concept as well as a better layout.  Bright sunny windows look out to the back deck and pool area – prime space for this couple who love to entertain.

We created separate workspaces for cooking and entertaining:  island seating in the center, drinks bar near the dining room, and tall pantries with coffee bar at the other end.  A lot of storage was needed so we designed pocket doors to conceal small appliances, vertical tray dividers, open shelves for cookbooks, tall pantries with roll-out internal drawers, and lots of drawers for dishware and several custom drawer inserts.

Drinks bar:  Custom tall china display with ribbed glass and lighted interior, custom pull-out drawers below including deep drawer with bottle dividers.  Opposite is a small panel ready dishwasher and second sink.

Coffee Bar: Conveniently located near the back door this is the perfect landing and serving spot for all the outdoor entertainment.  Tons of storage in tall pantries, including space for brooms & cleaning equipment. Deep drawers below the long countertop with special inserts for dishware. Floating shelves display their extensive cookbook collection.

The chef can now enjoy convenient customized drawers for everything from spices, many utensils and a generous collection of pots and pans. Quartz countertops continue up the backsplash topped with a shallow shelf for items ready at hand.  Easy access to the wall ovens and an island for setting things down.  The table island provides seating for conversation.  The legs are tapered and capped with stainless steel at the floor.
